Stranded Brooklyn animals in need of good homes
Sandy left many animals throughout Brooklyn without a home. Shelters around the borough are hard at work trying to reunite lost pets with their owners or find them a safe home. Workers at the Charles Henderson Shelter in Windsor Terrace say they are receiving about 20 calls a day about dogs and cats found by volunteers. Dr. Kenneth Humphreys, a veterinarian at One Love Animal Hospital in Boerum Hill, says it is likely that there are more pets out there still trying to find shelter. The ASPCA has an entire Facebook page dedicated to Sandy relief.
