MTA holds public fare hike hearing during nor'easter
Straphangers had a chance to voice their opinions about a proposed fare hike Wednesday night, but they had to brave a nor'easter to do so.
The MTA held one of eight public hearings in Brooklyn during the snowstorm, but protesters say hundreds of seats were left empty because of the weather.
Those who did make it, took to the podium to express concerns over another increase. Transit officials say there are several proposals on the table to try and close its budget deficit.
