Driver charged in fatal pedestrian-involved crash


A limo driver has been charged with drunken driving after police say he struck and killed a pedestrian in Marine Park on Sunday.



According to authorities, 50-year-old Yan Krainert hit passenger Viktor Avadyayev moments after he had stepped out of the car at Kings Highway and Bedford Avenue.



The 50-year-old victim was wedged between another vehicle and rushed to Kings County Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.



Krainert is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and DWI.
