A volunteer ambulance service is continuing to fight for funding to stay up and running.
A new round of volunteers began their training today at the Bed-Stuy Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
"For me, to be a volunteer here is a great feeling," says EMT Baron Johnson. "There's no place out there like this. Having the Bed-Stuy Volunteer Ambulance here is a very big help to the community."
Members of the group were the first on scene when two Brooklyn detectives were shot to death in their patrol car back in December.
