Police have arrested a man after uncovering a massive stockpile of drugs and money.
The 62nd Precinct's anti-crime unit says officers saw a man running toward a Honda Odyssey that was double-parked near 71st Street and 19th Avenue on Wednesday. When they went to issue a summons, the 21-year-old sped off, but officers say they were able to pull over the car.
Police say they found a marijuana cigar burning inside the Honda. They searched the suspect and allegedly found three bags of cocaine in his pocket.
After gaining a search warrant, police found a hollowed-out area behind a piece of plastic inside the vehicle that contained more drugs and money. In total, officers recovered 410 glassines of heroin, 131 bags of crack cocaine and a bag of marijuana, in addition to money, phones and a handgun.
