Brooklyn mom gives birth in back of Uber car
A Brooklyn newborn is being called the new Uber baby after making an unexpected entrance into the world.
David Horvitz called on the Uber car service Monday morning after his wife Zanna Gilbert began having contractions. They believed they had plenty of time to get to Mount Sinai Hospital, but their daughter had other plans.
Gilbert went into labor in the back of the car on the way to the birthing center. They were just a few blocks away when Ela Melanie was born into her father's arms.
The general manager for Uber New York says it is an "only in New York" story. He sends best wishes to the family and their Uber baby.
