State AG sues board members at 2 BK non-profits

The board of directors at two Brooklyn non-profits are being sued by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
According to the lawsuit, board members from both the Brooklyn Child and Family Services, Inc. and Project Teen Aid Housing Development Fund Corp. tried to illegally sell two townhouses that they operated.
An investigation by the attorney general's office found that board members listed the Rose F. Kennedy Family Center on Halsey Street and the Rosa Parks Apartments on Hancock Street for sale without necessary approval. A temporary restraining order has now frozen the organizations' assets.
In addition, the lawsuit claims that the board of directors led both non-profits into financial ruin, which resulted in a loss of public funding.
