Library sees boost in students at citizenship classes

The Brooklyn Public Library has seen an increase in students attending its citizenship classes.
The library began offering the classes this past October.
People from multiple countries were present at the library's Bay Ridge branch Saturday for the first class of spring. The class is offered for free through a grant.
The library started offering the four-hour course on Saturdays to accommodate students' schedules.
A number of attendees say they have been in the United States for decades, but felt it was now time to gain their citizenship.
The library also offers legal services for immigrants.
