Police: Woman sexually harassed in Williamsburg

Police are searching for a man who they say sexually harassed a woman near her Williamsburg home.

The incident occurred at around noon on April 18. Investigators say the 27-year-old woman was checking her mail while inside her building when she spotted a man waiting for the nearby elevator.

Police say the suspect entered the elevator, but got off when the woman remained in the lobby. News 12 is told that when the woman left the building, the suspect followed and grabbed her buttocks before running away.

Investigators describe the suspect as a balding, light-skinned male standing about 5 feet 10 inches.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
