Salon offers free treatments to homeless women
Just Because Salon in Fort Greene is offering free beauty treatments to homeless women in honor of Mother's Day.
Recipients say they haven't had the chance to be pampered in a long time.
Salon owner Carol Thomas says she got the idea after volunteering on a mobile beauty truck last summer for needy women.
She says the offer will continue on the first Sunday of every month.
"These women have been going through such a rough patch and we thought it would be great just to show them that someone cares about them," Thomas says.
