Casket found in Bushwick with bones inside

A 911 call led police to Bushwick where a casket had been discovered on the street with bones inside.

Police from the 83rd Precinct tweeted out a photo of the deteriorated coffin, which turned up on Pilling Street, right across from Evergreens Cemetery and close to Trinity Cemetery.

Officials say that it appears the casket had been removed from the ground, but officers searched the cemeteries and couldn't find any graves that had been tampered with.

The medical examiner has determined that the skeletal remains are human.

Cops are urging anyone with information or who may have seen something out of the ordinary to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
