Police: 2 females shot in Prospect Park South

Police say a woman and a teenager were shot Tuesday outside a busy playground in Prospect Park South.

Officers responded to shots fired outside Detective Dillon Stewart Playground, located near Crooke Avenue and Parade Place, just before 5 p.m.

Witness Ricardo Agosto says he heard three gunshots ring out, causing parents to flee the park with their children.

Police closed off a section of the park as they scoured the scene for evidence.

Officials confirm that two females, ages 14 and 38, were transported to Kings County Hospital. There is no word on the extent of their injuries, but News 12 is told they are expected to be OK.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
