A Park Slope day care center has been closed indefinitely after abuse allegations surfaced.

Avalon Childcare on Fifth Avenue was forced to shut its doors by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. A video captured by a News 12 viewer shows a worker allegedly grabbing and pulling a student either by the hair or ear. Another video depicts a teacher allegedly pushing a student to the ground.

The videos were sent to News 12 and the city's Administration for Children's Services by an anonymous source. Thomas Mulvi, the owner of Avalon Childcare, said he fired both employees seen in the videos. However, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene stepped in and closed the center Tuesday. That left dozens of parents scrambling for child care.

Mulvi says he has never been suspended in the 18 years he has been in business. He says all employees in his other facilities will be retrained on child abuse. He's also trying to fight the violations at the Fifth Avenue location so that he can reopen.
