Cops seek man in sexual assault

Police are searching for a man they say violently sexually assaulted a woman.

Officers say the man approached a 59-year-old woman sitting on a bench along Eastern Parkway Saturday night, and started a conversation with her shortly after 6 p.m.

After the woman expressed that she needed to use a restroom, the man allegedly led her into the stairwell of an apartment building on Albany Avenue, directing her toward the basement.

That's where police say he choked her, then forced her to perform oral sex on him.

Police say he then took her down into the basement and choked her again until she passed out, and then sexually assaulted her a second time.

Officers described the suspect as a 60-year-old man, weighing about 200 pounds.

They say he has a Caribbean accent and a scarred, discolored eye.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
