Doctor offers tips to stay safe over summer

With temperatures continuing to climb higher as the summer season approaches, some Brooklyn residents are concerned about how to stay cool and safe.
News 12 spoke with Doctor Ernest Patti about tips to avoid heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
Dr. Patti says to cut down on the sugary drinks and to instead sip water and avoid working outside in the middle of day when the sun is at its highest point.
Other tips include wearing sunglasses, sunscreen and light clothing made of materials like cotton.
