Drivers complain of confusing Gowanus Expwy. signs
Motorists in the borough say they find themselves lost along the Gowanus Expressway where it branches off to the Belt Parkway east.
Drivers say that highway barricades and signs directing cars toward the Belt are often moved around to different locations, changing depending on how heavy traffic is.
News 12 met with Community Board 10's vice chairman, Doris Cruz, in Bay Ridge, who says she has heard many complaints from her neighbors regarding the signs.
Drivers are often left guessing which lane will lead them to the correct exit, Cruz says.
The state Department of Transportation says its traffic and safety group is examining a better system for the temporary signs.
Permanent signs won't be installed until after highway construction projects are finished near the end of the summer.
