Police probe rash of Canarsie car break-ins

Police are investigating a recent rash of car break-ins throughout Canarsie.

One woman, who asked not to be identified, says she woke up Monday morning to find two windows of her car smashed, with glass shattered all over East 98th Street. When she asked neighbors if they experienced anything similar, she says many had complaints.

Police say there have been reports of criminal mischief linked to cars throughout the neighborhood.

Another woman on Avenue N says her son's car window was smashed over the weekend, along with some others on the block.

The victim on East 98th Street says she is still assessing the damage and figuring out how much it will cost to replace the windows.
