Several Brooklyn residents are joining a team of cyclists on a cross-country bike trip, all for a good cause.
A send-off ceremony was held in Borough Park for the group of young men who will fly out to California Thursday. From there, they'll hop on their bikes Sunday and begin the nearly 3,000-mile trek back to Brooklyn.
The goal is to raise $150,000 for Friendship Circle, an international organization that pairs together teens and children with special needs to help them create friendships.
The group, which is sponsored by the Investors Bank, plans to cycle about 95 miles per day to make it back to the borough in August.
There is also a women's team that will leave from Michigan and peddle their way back to Brooklyn.
