The NYPD is looking for a man who allegedly threw a firework inside a police car in Fort Greene, sending the vehicle up in flames.
Police have released a picture of the suspect, who they say tossed a consumer-grade aerial shell firework into the marked police cruiser, which was parked in front of 487 Carlton Ave.
It happened at around 3 a.m. Sunday, just as final Fourth of July festivities were wrapping up. The firework set the car interior ablaze, causing substantial damage.
The suspect is described as a black man with a thin build and short hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark colored pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
