Heat doesn't stop customers at new farmers market
It's hot and humid outside, but that didn't stop people from visiting one of the borough's newest farmers markets.
The Pitkin Verde Farmers Market kicked off in East New York with not only plenty of healthy fruits and veggies, but also a live African drum and dance performance, face painting and cooking demonstrations.
Borough President Eric Adams made an appearance to show his support for the market, which provides people in the neighborhood with affordable and nutritious foods.
It will be open every Tuesday through November.
