Artist brings traveling confessional to Brooklyn
A Brooklyn artist returned home to the borough to share his current project, a portable confession booth.
Hank Willis Thomas has exhibited his "Truth Booth" in dozens of countries already as part of the Cause Collective, a public art group. Recordings from the truth booth can go online.
"I want people to walk away with an understanding that it's OK to share a little piece of yourself you've never shared before," Thomas says. "Even to a total stranger, both of you can gain something from that experience."
Public Art Fund, a nonprofit, and Forest City Ratner Companies are sponsoring the truth booth.
The booth will make another appearance at the Barclays Center in September.
