Coney Island Brewery finally comes to Brooklyn
When most people think of Coney Island, visions of the beach, Nathan's famous hot dogs and rides come to mind, but one new business owner is hoping to add beer to the equation.
The Coney Island Brewery will soon open on Surf Avenue, in the neighborhood it is named after. The brewery was opened to beer enthusiasts for a sneak peek Friday, featuring freak-show characters, music and drinks.
The establishment will officially be in business later this summer, where it will both brew and serve eight different types of beer, according to the business owner.
The brewery is owned by a subsidiary of Boston Beer Company, which produces the Sam Adams brand. The beer is sold throughout the country, including Los Angeles and Miami.
