The New York Police Department says it is expanding its arsenal of stun guns.
According to the New York Post, the NYPD currently has 700 Tasers in use and another 1,000 in inventory.
The NYPD will reportedly be spending up to $4.5 million on the weapons.
The expansion is intended to give officers more non-lethal alternatives when dealing with criminals.
