Police are investigating three separate shootings that left one person dead and several others injured. Officials say a shooting took place at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Saratoga Avenue in Brownsville.

1 dead, several injured in 3 separate shootings
Police are investigating three separate shootings that left one person dead and several others injured.
Officials say a shooting took place at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Saratoga Avenue in Brownsville. They say a 21-year-old man was shot in the torso, he later died at the hospital. Two other people were injured in the shooting, but are expected to be OK.
Officials say the shooting was most likely gang related and could be retaliation for a shooting that took place a month ago.
In Bed-Stuy, a 40-year-old man was shot in the hand just before midnight on Dekalb Avenue. He was taken to Kings County Hospital where he is in stable condition.
This morning, another shooting took place on Rockaway Parkway. One man in his 50s was shot in the leg. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is in stable condition.
