Hoops tournament sends anti-violence message
A neighborhood basketball tournament held in East Flatbush Saturday was out to teach kids more than just how to dribble and score.
The inaugural tournament aimed to keep kids spending their time productively, while sending a positive, anti-violence message.
The children who participated in the tournament also gained valuable mentorship through the program's directors, organizers say.
