Assemblyman wants change for dangerous intersection
The intersection of Ocean Parkway and Bay Parkway is dangerous for drivers, according to state Assemblyman Dov Hikind.
He says that approaching the turn, there is no opportunity for a car in the middle or left lanes to safely move over.
There are already speed cameras installed at the intersection and the speed limit is 25 mph.
Hikind is calling on the Department of Transportation to add signs that will give drivers more notice of the upcoming exit.
In a statement, the DOT says, "DOT is aware of community concerns regarding signage at Ocean Parkway near Bay Parkway and is reviewing the area for any possible enhancements."
Until then, Hikind is urging Brooklyn residents to be cautious in the area.
