Parents are racing to finish back-to-school shopping before the start of the year, but the hot new styles for their kids can sometimes be expensive.
Parents on average spend as much as $630 a year on back-to-school shopping, according to experts.
They recommend buying basic items that can be worn throughout the school year to save money.
The manager of the Uniqlo at Atlantic Terminal Mall says flannels are good for boys in the fall and early spring -- and they match well with warm vests for the winter.
