Police: Cab robber turns himself in
The search for a man who robbed a cab driver in Flatbush is over.
Kedar Harper turned himself in to police Thursday. Investigators say they used facial-recognition software to determine that Harper is the only one who could have robbed the cab.
According to police, a 51-year-old driver picked up Harper in the Bronx last Thursday just after 6 p.m. and drove him to Argyle Road and Church Avenue. Harper gave a $100 bill to the driver, who exited the cab to make change at a nearby location. Police say that's when Harper approached him and took back the money.
Harper then allegedly punched the driver in the face and stole another $40 in cash from his pocket.
Harper was processed at the 70th Precinct and is expected to be arraigned Friday morning.
