Ready, Set, Fit: Golf
Golf has a reputation for being a low-intensity activity, but it requires a lot of skill.
News 12's Natasha Geigel stopped by the Turtle Cove Golf Center in the Bronx to get some help with her swing.
Rick Nielsen, the center's director, says it's all about technique. For first-timers, starting off with an instructor is key, because poor form can result in back injuries.
Once a golfer has the proper technique down, golf can offer a great way to burn calories from walking the course or taking swings at the driving range.
At Turtle Cove, a bucket of golf balls costs $13 and it's just $3 to rent a club for an hour.
Brooklyn residents looking to work on their swing can check out the Brooklyn Golf Center.
