The alleged driver in a deadly hit-and-run in Borough Park has turned himself in, according to sources.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the white van believed to have struck and killed Marlene Zotti, 59, as she was crossing Ninth Avenue. The driver allegedly fled eastbound down 42nd Street after the accident, but eventually turned himself in.
Zotti's brother, Robert Medina, said he forgives the person responsible for his sister's death. "My sister would do the same," said Medina.
Medina added that his sister's sudden death has been difficult and painful. "I'd change places with her," he said. "Smash me into a thousand pieces. Switch us, but not her."
Medina said that his biggest struggle now is being able to pay for his sister's funeral.
