Suspect sought in Boerum Hill attempted rape
Police are searching for a man who attempted to rape a woman in Boerum Hill on Tuesday.
Authorities say the suspect tried to lure the victim into danger by offering to buy her soda and cigarettes. A surveillance video released by the NYPD shows the man walking into a Rite Aid store on Court Street and offering to pay for the 45-year-old woman's items.
When the two left the store and got to the corner of Pacific Street and Boerum Place that's when officers say the man attacked her. They say he used a cord in attempt to choke her and a knife to cut her clothes off. The victim screamed and the suspect fled the scene.
Police say the man is 5 feet 4 inches tall and around 30 years old.
