Police: Toddler found alone in Sunset Park
Police say they found a young boy wandering around unattended in Sunset Park Thursday.
Officers took the toddler to the 72nd Precinct, where he remained for several hours before family members arrived to pick him up.
Police say the 2-year-old was spotted alone at a playground inside Sunset Park. No witnesses were able to explain where he came from or how he arrived, according to officials.
Police say they later determined that the boy was with his day care group playing at the Sunset Park playground and was left behind when the group returned to school.
A passerby noticed the boy and called police.
The NYPD turned to Twitter with the boy's picture hoping to identify him. The Sunset Park Business Improvement District retweeted the picture and was able to reach the parents and reunite the family.
