On Thursday, the Sunset Park community rallied together after a boy was left alone in the park during a day care mix-up.
The boy was found wandering in the park by a passerby who notified police. Within hours, the boy was safely returned to his parents.
The 72nd Precinct partnered with the community organization Sunset Parker and the local business improvement district in an effort to locate the boy's family.
Police posted the boy's picture and within moments a concerned citizen notified police that the boy's name was Ethan and also gave them the name of the day care he attended.
The post was shared nearly 100 times. Authorities said they were shocked at how quickly they got a response.
News 12 attempted to contact the day care, but was unable to reach anyone.
