Wake held for slain aide to Gov. Cuomo
Mourners held a wake for the aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo who was hit and killed by a stray bullet ahead of the West Indian Day Parade earlier this month.
Carey Gabay was shot in the crossfire between rival gangs, according to police. He died a few days later.
Family members held the service at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Clinton Hill.
Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife Chirlane McCray attended the viewing.
Gabay rose from humble roots in a public housing project in the Bronx to become a Harvard-educated lawyer who worked for the governor.
Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday.
Police are offering a $22,000 reward for information on the case. The number for Crime Stoppers is 1-800-577-TIPS.
