Family continues search for Bed-Stuy man missing nearly 1 month

A Brooklyn family is trying to find a relative with schizophrenia who has been missing for close to a month.
Police say 51-year-old Cesar Ortiz Jr. went missing on Aug 31. His family says their search is getting desperate because of his psychiatric condition and the fact that he is without his medication.
They've put up fliers around Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights hoping someone will recognize him and contact the police.
Ortiz's family says he was looked after by a caretaker in a group home on Bainbridge Street, but they were evicted from the apartment. Police say Ortiz disappeared shortly after moving into a hotel on Atlantic Avenue.
The family filed a missing persons report at the 77th Precinct earlier this month, but so far there have been no leads on Ortiz's whereabouts. They say that should anyone see him, it's best to keep their distance and immediately contact the police.
