Thousands rally in Cadman Plaza for education equality
Thousands of parents, students and community members around the city stood together Wednesday in Cadman Plaza, demanding equality within the school system.
They say black and Hispanic students are not receiving the same quality of education as white and Asian students.
"I'm a firm believer that every child should have access to a great education, and unfortunately that's not the case," says parent Yvonne Guillen.
Jennifer Hudson, along with several other artists, showed their support to the cause with special performances.
Mayor Bill de Blasio has yet to respond to a News 12 request to comment.
