Suspect sought after Crown Heights man fatally shot in car in Fort Greene

Police say a Crown Heights man was shot to death in his car Sunday night in Fort Greene.
The incident took place at around 11:30 p.m. on Ashland Place and Fulton Street. After being shot, Eric McKinney, known by family members as "Carl," drove up Rockwell Place going the wrong way, smashing his car into a fence and then rolling back across the street onto the sidewalk.
McKinney, 31, was found in the driver's seat of an SUV with gunshot wounds to his chest and left arm. Police say the crash occurred just steps away from Brooklyn Hospital Center. It's unclear if he was trying to get to the hospital.
Officers say they are searching for at least one suspect, who they believe took off on foot wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477.
