DOT eyes speed humps in Windsor Terrace

Officials are mulling new speed humps in Windsor Terrace amid a storm of complaints from residents.
Community Board 7 is working with the city's Department of Transportation to discuss where more than a dozen of those humps may be installed.
Community Board 7 district manager Jeremy Laufer says a speed hump is similar to a speed bump found in a parking lot but much longer.
The DOT analyzed the areas identified in the complaints and has 15 speed humps in mind.
Some of the intersections under consideration have been the site of fatal accidents.
Some residents oppose the idea, saying that speed humps will slow emergency responders and create noise.
