Officials urge drivers to stay off dangerous roads

Brooklyn residents woke up to snow-covered cars and streets Saturday morning, after the first major storm of 2016.

While crews are working very hard to clear the roads, many side streets in Brooklyn have not been plowed yet.

Drivers are advised to stay inside, but if you do have to go outside, it's important to wear layers to keep warm.

A blizzard warning is in effect through early Sunday, as snow continues falling across New York City.
