Brooklyn man honored for mentoring 10-year-old

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City honored a mentor from Brooklyn Monday.

Mike Bufano, who mentors a 10-year-old named Devin, received the recognition for his work during National Mentoring Month, which is January.

The two go to museums and theater performances. Devin's mother says he's opened up after spending more than a year under Bufano's tutelage.

Bufano, whose day job is at Google, says that despite his busy life, the work is rewarding.

The mentoring group is expanding its services in Brooklyn, according to CEO Hector Batista.
