29-year-old Brooklyn woman slashed on the 3 train

A man is accused of slashing a woman on the 3 train in Brooklyn.



It happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday between Atlantic Avenue and Eastern Parkway.



Police say a 29-year-old woman was slashed on the hand and suffered a laceration. 



She told police the victim walked up to her on the southbound train and said, "I will chop you up on this train." Police say the suspect began hitting the victim with a sharp object wrapped in a cloth. 



The woman was transported to the hospital where she was treated and released.



Police have released surveillance photos of the man suspected in the slashing.
