Beloved Park Slope eatery closes its doors
A popular Park Slope restaurant closed its doors for good on Sunday, but not before fans could stop for one last bite.
Bark, located on Bergen Street, boasted award-winning hot dogs and other grab-and-go dishes at affordable prices. Most of its ingredients were locally sourced.
Customers weren't the only ones sad to see Bark go. Emplyees hugged each other goodbye in between preparing meals.
Owner and chef Josh Sharkey opened the spot seven years ago, but says the economics no longer worked because New York City restaurant costs are just too high. He says he's been touched by the amount of love his patrons gave him as he closed up shop.
Sharkey says he plans on selling his hot dogs in stores, so customers will still be able to enjoy them.
