Family searches for missing senior with dementia
A Red Hook family is searching for their loved one who was last seen Sunday night when he was discharged from Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn.
Felix Rivera, 79, suffers from dementia, according to his family. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, black jeans and black sneakers. He stands at 6 feet tall and weighs 160 pounds.
His family members believe an ambulance transported Rivera to the hospital when a good Samaritan called 911 after seeing him take a bad fall in the street near his home.
Rivera's family has been hanging fliers around the area of his last-known location. They say they are holding the hospital responsible for releasing Rivera without notifying the family.
News 12 is told that Rivera was not under the care of Methodist Hospital when he went missing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
