Facebook teaches BK business owners social media

A group of social media experts, including Facebook staff members, hosted a workshop Monday to teach Brooklyn small business owners how to market themselves online.

Entrepreneurs like Camy Newton say they've been able to build a global presence for their startups using social media.

"No matter how small you are...set up a Facebook small business page, get working on some ads, get your business out there and see the impact," she says.

Experts say that the growing number of people using smartphones makes an online footprint a must-have aspect for businesses.
