Dedicated bikeway opens on Pulaski Bridge in Greenpoint
A new bikeway on the Pulaski Bridge officially opened in Greenpoint on Friday, according to city officials.
Prior to the new bikeway, pedestrians and bikers were forced to share a designated area on the bridge, which often caused congestion.
However, with the new dedicated bikeway, city officials with the Department of Transportation say everyone can look forward to a safer and protected way of traveling over Island City, Queens and Greenpoint.
They say the Pulaski Bridge opened in 1954 and carries thousands of cyclists daily.
