NYPD officers rescued a man whose kayak was sinking about two miles off the coast of Coney Island Saturday.
Police say they recieved a 911 call about the sinking vessel around 10 a.m.
A police helicopter located the man, and two scuba divers helped the man onto a police boat.
The man had been clinging to the half-submerged craft and was near exhaustion when he was found, police say.
The 33-year-old kayaker was taken to a waiting ambulance, where he was checked out and deemed to be OK.
Rescuers say if it wasn't for the life preserver and cold-water gear the man was wearing, he might not have been so lucky.
