Department of Transportation hands out newly unveiled Vison Zero-themed bicycle helmets at Brooklyn Library

The New York City Department of Transportation unveiled a new Vision Zero-themed bicycle helmet Thursday.
Department officials joined forces with the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza to give away hundreds of helmets.
The DOT says it has given helmets out as part of a safety program since 2007.
People looking to get a free helmet can do so by stopping by the library until 6:30 p.m. today.
Organizers say there are also several other events scheduled where bicycle helmets will be distributed over the next few months.
