Fire displaces Canarsie residents

A fire Friday morning in Canarsie displaced residents from their home.

A neighbor recorded cellphone video of flames coming out of the windows of the home on East 86th Street near Avenue L around 9 a.m. He says he was in his bedroom next door when smelled smoke.

Firefighters knocked out windows as they worked to extinguish the fire while displaced tenants wondered what would become of their belongings.

No serious injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
