Barbershop employee robbed at gunpoint on Pitkin Avenue in East New York

Police have released surveillance video of two men they say robbed a barbershop employee in Brooklyn.

It happened on May 16 at the Trin International Unisex Barbershop on Pitkin Avenue around 3 a.m.

Police say the victim was closing the barbershop when two men approached him on the street, showed a gun and forced him back inside.

They say one of the suspects removed the victim's jewelry and $400 while the second man stood outside as a lookout.

Police say the victim was not hurt and that both suspects ran away.

The suspect with the gun is described as being 5'7", 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie, dark pants and light-colored sneakers. The second suspect is described as being 5' 8", 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, dark-hooded jacket and black sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
