Initiative would tear down Brooklyn park walls

A new initiative will tear down some fences surrounding Prospect and Fort Greene parks and beautify the park's edges.
Park officials say taking down the fences and walls could create more open spaces for people to feel welcome.
Mayor Bill de Blasio called the initiative "a giant step forward in our vision for the role green spaces play in New York's communities."
Some residents think removing the park's barriers could welcome danger, and others believe the fortress-like blockades hold sentimental value.
